Best Project - Large Club Award
Arts and Culture A major project for the HWC Arts Department was helping at the Friday Night Live free-outdoor concert series held on the Town Green in downtown Herndon sponsored by Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce. The series was held each Friday night from July through the end of September. HWC club members and spouses volunteered to serve as "marshals" at the entrances/exits to the event, checking ID's and serving beverages. The Chamber made a donation to HWC based on the attendance to the event. |
Best Project - Large Club Award Environment The HWC Environment CSP spent 656 hours recycling assorted items including batteries, light bulbs, ink cartridges, plastic and paper. Also included were medical supply recycling and reusing of walkers, crutches, wheelchairs and more. The result help to conserve and eliminate unnecessary trash in the landfill. |

The non-profit Herndon Woman’s Club spends countless volunteer hours to help support and
enrich our community. Projects are coordinated through various committees during the year.

Environment: October 2020 HWC members worked with the Senior Center ladies to replace plants in a section of the side garden to attract butterflies. They accomplished their task in a couple hours digging up plants and planting new ones. Note that all the ladies are wearing their masks. It should also be noted that they all SMILED on the count of three as the photos were taken. ______ ________ Photos below begin to bloom by mid March and May 2021 |
