Environment CSP members
enjoyed gardening with seniors at Harbor House after donating flowers, herbs and soil to plants in garden pots for their therapeutic garden at the front entrance. The handmade recycled owl and flower plate ornaments were also donated for the residents to enjoy. Education CSP Receives Award
at Herndon Police Department Annual Award Ceremony Environment CSP made flowers
to be placed in a garden using glass and colorful plates. Civic Engagement & Outreach Met with USO staff to donate beanie babies, coloring books, crayons, child/adult toothbrushes, toothpaste and an assortment of individual meals and snacks. Mayor's Volunteer Appreciation
Town of Herndon Reception This month 260 volunteers from 23 service organizations were recognized for their volunteer service to the community. Congratulation to two HWC members: Susy Ledgerwood Laura Poindexter This month, a few members from Environment CSP visited beautiful 1700 - 1800 period homes and gardens in historic downtown Hillsboro. Another group checked out the Blue Bells at River Bend Park this month. The flowers were beautiful. Civic Engagement and Outreach
hosted Bob Schnapp of A Simple Gesture to speak about the organization and answer questions. More members will be filling Little Green Bags to show support. March 2024

Northern District Meeting HWC Members joined other clubs
and received several awards (ribbons) for item submitted at the District Meeting Community Service and Outreach CSP completed its Northern Virginia Diaper Drive for 2024. HWC ladies donated 1,925 diapers and 2,772 wipes! Thanks to those attending the Saturday matinee performance at Next Stop Theatre Benefit Performance School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play The Education and Libraries CSP
and HWC members enjoyed volunteering at the Herndon Elementary and Dranesville Elementary Book Fairs this month Education CSP donated Bears
to Herndon Police Department again this year. The bears were purchased through Rush to A Plush. Included is a current photo and two Newsletters from the Plush Times about the bears. A check was presented to HWC for
help by club members serving as docents at the Homes Tour last December. Members of Environment CSP participated in AERO's wildlife rescue training in Centerville. The event was fun and informative along with close up and personal with different wild animals - especially the babies! February 2024 Kestrel Nesting Box for Frying Pan
Park made by members of Environment CSP. Park staff, a few club members, Ann the Cow and the new piglets watch as the newly built kestrel box is carefully installed. The Education and Libraries CSP delivered hand puppets which were assembled at the Day of Service last month. The puppets were presented to All Ages Read Together for the preschoolers at the Herndon Senior Center. January 2024 Wreaths Across America

In 2023, 77 members accumulated over 5,415 hours of volunteer service supporting the local community. Coordination with the Town of Herndon, other non-profits, local schools and fundraisers provided benefits to the community.
