Mayor's Volunteer Appreciation Reception Twenty one of the 36 Herndon Woman's Club members who volunteered over 100 hours last year attended the Mayor's Reception. New Member Meeting Overview of club for new members A few members from Environment CSP visited Riverbend Park to walk among acres of Virginia Bluebells by The Potomac River.
March 2025
Civic Engagement & Outreach CSP collected diapers, wipes and feminine products for LINK. Our giving members did CLEAN UP by donating over 3,008 diapers, 5,634 wipes, 786 feminine hygiene products and adult incontinence products.
Education CSP members donate
Bears to Herndon Police Department. During a photo op, Police Dog Bragg claimed a bear for himself! The bears are given to children by the officers. Cultural Dinner held at Outback Restaurant in Herndon Great turnout by club members Health and Welfare CSP
donated comfort bags to She Believes In Me Education CSP received over 500 childrens books from HWC club members. These books were donated to
Books Are Food for the Brain AART preschool techer. Environment CSP constructed
two American Southern Flying Squirrel nexting boxes for Frying Pan Park. |

Columbia Falls, Maine
Columbia, Maryland Mission BBQ co-founders Bill Kraus and Steve Newton, presented a donation of $352,930 to Wreaths Across America executive director Karen Worcester in Columbia, MD thanks to the generosity of Mission BBQ customers support. Wreaths Across America will be held December 13, 2025 across the US. Two HWC members represented our club and enjoyed meeting Morill and Karen Worcester and others Health & Wellness CSP met to
assemble comfort bags to donate to She Believes in Me Members reviewing materials from
the past for retention due to increase in storage charges. Storage required to store stakes for Wreaths Across America vs member's home. Education & Libraries had help
from club members in making blankets for Project Linus. The 59 cozy blankets were picked up in front of Joanne Fabrics on a chilly Saturday afternoon. Arts & Culture

Club members rescheduled participation working on several projects at Holy Cross Church. Socks were filled with rice to keep small animals warm when healing. Fringe on blankets for Project Linus were completed by members. Paracord bracelets were made by club members for military use. January 2025
Wreaths Across America
Chestnut Grove Cemetery Wreaths were removed from the 950+ veteran grave site thanks to a small group of club members, and local participants. It's Haul Good filled their truck for transfer to the dump Civic Engagement and Outreach
enjoyed creating hand made greeting cards to share with Veterans. Members include a brief note to each veteran. Last month, one female veteran turned 100 years young. Members enjoy wishing them a Happy Birthday and thanking them for their service. |

Volunteer Hours 2024
During 2024 66 club members provided support to the Community Service Programs (CSPs) and various Committee activities and projects. The CSPs included Arts and Culture, Civic Engagement and Outreach, Education and Libraries, Environment, and Health and Wellness. A total of 58 projects were completed with a total of 4,823 volunteer hours. The 21 committee projects totaled 1,211 hours. Members also worked on four fundraising activities totaling 1,527 hours. |
