DAY OF CARING JANUARY 16, 2023
HOLY CROSS LUTHERAN CHURCH HERNDON WOMAN'S CLUB Holy Cross Lutheran Church shared their space today as those present joined in a 2023 MLK Day of Service Project. 
Education CSP
A total of 48 pounds of used crayons were collected and sorted by color. The recycled crayons will be melted down into new shapes by The Crayon Initiative. for use by hospitalized children. |

Civic Engagement & Outreach CSP
A total of 200 pounds of rice and 200 pounds of beans were bagged, along with 50 bags of laundry pods ready to donate to LINK. Arts and Culture CSP
Assembly of 36 containers of bean soup mix were completed and ready for donation to LINK. Environment CSP
A total of 128 socks were filled with rice for donation to AERO, to be used to nurse small rescued animals back to health.

Holy Cross Lutheran Church project was to assemble Personal Care Kits and Baby Care Kits for Lutheran World Relief to be sent to Ukraine and Ethiopia. They had collected items for the kits and due to the generosity of many, they were thrilled to assemble a total of 83 kits. [Check their Facebook page for many photos]

Guest Speaker Herndon Village Network
