The Herndon Woman's Club holds several fundraisers throughout the year to support club activities,
projects and programs. Below are some examples of our fundraising programs.
HWC members sell White House Christmas Ornaments as a fundraiser every year. The proceeds from this fundraiser are used to support the activities of the club. We appreciate everyone who helped make this effort a success. By early December 2018, members sold the entire supply of 1,280 ornaments.
The Herndon Woman's Club works with Wreaths Across America to honor our veterans who are laid to rest at Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Herndon. Each year, the club raises funds to purchase wreaths to be laid on veterans' graves in early December. As a designated fundraising entity, the club purchases wreaths through the Wreaths Across America program. Funds are also raised through this program to support a future veterans project.
The Herndon Woman's Club hosts a Fashion Show luncheon and raffle as a fundraiser each fall. On November 3 the 60th Annual Fashion Show was held at the Dulles Hyatt Regency Hotel to benefit Cornerstones Herndon Enrichment Program. Over 250 ladies helped make this event a success. There were door prizes for guests, raffle items of interest to many of those joining in the fun as well as a silent auction.
Eight club members walked the runway on three occasions wearing fashions by Soft Surroundings.
Thanks to all those who donated along with the many guests and to the club members who spent numerous hours working behind the scenes to make this an enjoyable event.
