MONTHLY MEETING – APRIL

4/12/2017

Seeing the sun shine can often pick up a person’s spirit. Watching the members arrive for the monthly meeting can also lift a person’s spirit. There was plenty of energy entering the room with greetings and conversations, along with introductions of possible new members at the April meeting. Believe everyone enjoyed partaking of enticing snacks before the start of the meeting too. It should be noted that donation of items requested for projects find there way to the monthly meetings to be picked up by the appropriate committee.

Roger Drew, MFT, LPC was the guest speaker on the topic of PTSD. He trained in Gestalt psychology, Neurofeedback, Hypnosis, Performance psychology and Organizational Effectiveness and is a certified trainer in Neuro Linguistic Programming and licensed therapist by National Board Certified Counselors and Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia. He works with individuals, families, executive teams, students and athletes.

The full agenda for the evening included review of the proposed budget for approval – executive board, departments, committees, and members’ of the club would be involved. During this meeting, there were questions, discussions by members, motions made and changes to be made prior to submitting the budget for final vote and majority club approval at the May meeting.

As the clocked ticked on, there were reports and updates to be made by each department related to completed activities and upcoming events. Grass does not have time to grow under the feet of club members. HWC members spend considerable time and energy behind the scenes working on a project. The hours spent help insure that events are successful and of benefit to others.
