Where have all the flowers gone? Earlier this month you might have had the chance to savor the bright yellow daffodils in bloom on Sterling Road/606 near Herndon Parkway. Thanks to the HWC/Conservation Department’s donation of 990 bulbs, and the special help from the Town crew planting the bulbs, anyone driving past the Gulf War Veterans Memorial Roadway had the chance to enjoy the beauty of many yellow daffodils. If you missed the flowers, wait till next spring. HWC plans to triple the number of bulbs this fall.
In the meantime, enjoy the new growth and buds that are appearing throughout the Town of Herndon. Seeing the trees and flowers come to life in neighborhoods will hopefully lift your spirits. Spring really has arrived. If you cannot stop and smell the roses, enjoy the many new blossoms around Herndon.
