Hopefully you are enjoying those lazy, hazy days of summer. Although there are no monthly meetings held during July and August, community involvement and activities continue for members of the Herndon Woman’s Club.
Members enjoy the chance to get away and chill out with family and friends. Vacation time is a chance to recharge and hopefully relax. Thanks to posts on Facebook, members share photos of time spent vacationing at the beach, spending time with children and grandchildren, showing off new babies and various activities during the summer. There are even pet photos of those lovable four legged family members to enjoy. Members are busy in Herndon during the summer. Despite the heat, many members enjoy helping out at Friday Night Live! There are planning meetings taking place with several committees and sub-committees and departments. A few of the upcoming events that keep members involved and busy with behind the scene planning include the Herndon Labor Day Festival (Sept 4), the 59th Annual Fashion Show (Nov 11), and Wreaths Across America at Chestnut Grove Cemetery (Dec 16) to name a few. Many people are looking forward to August 21 in anticipation of a total solar eclipse which will be visible in a narrow band from west to east coast across the entire contiguous United States. Schools will begin in some areas in August so vacations will be welcomed. On September 4 the Herndon Labor Day festival will take place in downtown Herndon from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There will be wine tasting, craft beer tasting, craft show, live music all day, great food.
