The Herndon Woman's Club holds several fundraisers throughout the year to support club activities, projects and programs. Below are some examples of our fundraising programs.
Labor Day Festival
The Herndon Woman's Club partners with the Town of Herndon to put on the Herndon Labor Day Festival. This is one of our largest fundraisers, and we encourage all club members along with friends and family members to assist us with this event. There is a core committee group that meets monthly with the Town of Herndon planning the event beginning early in the Spring. The vast majority of volunteers are needed only on Labor Day, working one of two shifts. Volunteers are needed to check IDs, put on wristbands, pass out tasting glasses, serve as marshals at the gates, and pour beer for the beer tastings. Please plan to join us on Labor Day!
The HWC sells White House Christmas Ornaments as a fundraiser every year. The proceeds from this fundraiser are used to support the activities of the club. We are now sold out of 2016 White House Christmas Ornaments. Thank you to everyone who helped make this effort a success. Please check with us next year to purchase your 2017 Ornament!
The HWC hosts a Fashion Show luncheon and raffle as a fundraiser each fall. Each year, a different charity is designated to receive the proceeds raised at the event. Generous donations from our donors in the community are what continues to make this event a success.
The Herndon Woman's Club works with Wreaths Across America to honor our veterans who are laid to rest at Chestnut Grove Cemetery. Each year, the club raises funds to purchase wreaths to be laid on veterans' graves in early December. As a designated fundraising entity, the club receives funds for each wreath purchased through the Wreaths Across America program. All funds raised through this program are designated to support a future veterans project.
